Legacy Epson DTG Printers | F2000 & F2160 Ink, Parts & Consumables

Legacy Epson SureColor F2000 & F2160 DTG Printers Still printing. Still supported. Now officially part of Epson’s legacy generation.
The Epson SureColor F2000 and SureColor F2160 played a major role in the growth of professional direct-to-garment printing in Australia. Thousands of decorators built businesses around these platforms, and many F2000 and F2160 printers are still producing garments today.
However, these models are no longer part of Epson Australia’s current DTG printer range. Both the SureColor F2000 and SureColor F2160 are now listed within Epson Australia’s Back Catalogue, which means they should be considered legacy Epson DTG printers rather than current-generation equipment.
That does not mean you need to stop using a working machine.
Machines Plus continues to supply a range of genuine Epson F2000 and F2160 inks, cleaning products, maintenance consumables and selected accessories, helping existing owners keep their legacy Epson DTG printers operating for as long as it remains practical. Our current range includes genuine Epson UltraChrome DG 600 ml ink cartridges for the F2000 and F2160, cleaning cartridges, F2160 head-cleaning products, replacement air filters, maintenance kits and F2000 tube-cleaning kits.

Genuine Epson F2000 & F2160 Ink Is Still Available

If your Epson SureColor F2000 or F2160 is still producing reliable work, Machines Plus continues to stock genuine Epson UltraChrome DG ink in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White.
The original F2000 and F2160 platforms were designed around Epson UltraChrome DG ink, and Machines Plus continues to recommend genuine Epson consumables for customers maintaining these legacy DTG systems.

Maintenance Consumables for Legacy Epson DTG Printers
Keeping an older DTG printer operating reliably becomes increasingly dependent on correct cleaning and preventive maintenance.
Machines Plus continues to offer selected Epson F2000 and F2160 maintenance products, including products such as:

  • cleaning wipes and selected platen accessories

Availability can vary as these printers move further into their legacy lifecycle, so we recommend ordering required consumables before they become urgent.

What Does “Legacy” Mean?
Legacy does not mean useless, unsupported overnight or ready for the bin.
It means the F2000 and F2160 belong to an earlier generation of Epson DTG technology and are no longer part of Epson Australia’s current printer line-up. Epson now promotes the SureColor F1060, F2260 and F3000 within its current DTG and DTFilm printer range.
For an existing owner, there are therefore two sensible paths:
Keep it running: If your F2000 or F2160 remains reliable, meets your production requirements and is economically viable to maintain, continue using it and maintain it properly with the correct inks and consumables.
Plan the migration: If maintenance requirements are increasing, downtime is becoming expensive or your production needs have grown, it is worth beginning the move to Epson’s current DTG generation.
That distinction is important. We’re not telling customers to throw away a functioning F2000 or F2160. We are telling them not to treat a legacy printer as though it were still a current production platform.

Moving From an F2000 or F2160?
Meet the Current Epson DTG Generation
Epson’s current Australian DTG/DTFilm line-up gives existing F2000 and F2160 users several different migration paths.
The SureColor F1060 is Epson’s compact desktop DTG and DTFilm model, while the SureColor F2260 is positioned as a production desktop platform with a print area up to 406 × 508 mm. For higher-production environments, the SureColor F3000 is Epson’s floor-standing production system.

F2000 owner?
Depending on your production requirements, the F1060 or F2260 may represent the most logical move into the current Epson generation.

F2160 owner?
The F2260 is the natural current-generation model to investigate first for a comparable garment-production workflow, while businesses requiring substantially greater production capacity may want to consider the F3000.

Still Have an F2000 or F2160?
Good.
If it is still earning money, keep it earning money.
Machines Plus will continue supplying available genuine Epson inks and maintenance consumables for the Epson SureColor F2000 and F2160 while those products remain available.
But these machines are now legacy Epson DTG platforms, and owners should start thinking about the long-term replacement path rather than waiting until an ageing printer finally forces the decision.
Need consumables? Keep printing.
Need more productivity or reliability? Start planning the upgrade.
