Our founder: from Graphic Design to Garment & Merch Excellence

Machines Plus was founded over 10 years ago by Gus Altmann, a seasoned graphic designer with a deep passion for streetwear and print technologies. Gus’ journey began in Brazil, where his admiration for Brazilian street culture shaped his creative vision. 

He kicked off his professional career in 1992 as a designer, working with screen printing. In 2002, he moved to Australia to be closer to the Aussie side of his family. If you ever chat with him, ask about his Grandma Peggy, she was a nurse at St Vincent’s Hospital! Gus continued his creative work in Melbourne, and some of his designs can still be spotted around the city today.

Industry Expertise That Runs Deep

With over 30 years of experience, Gus has worked with the highest levels of printing technology. As a certified Service Engineer and Application Specialist for Roland DG, he gained unparalleled technical expertise. That hands-on experience led him to start his own company.

In 2014, Gus founded Machines Plus, a company dedicated to helping businesses navigate the complex world of garment printing. Today, we’re a Roland DG Authorised Dealer, an Epson Platinum Premium Partner, and a trusted provider of DTG, DTF, UV, dye-sublimation, heat transfer, and garment solutions.

We’ve Been There From the Start

Machines Plus and Gus were involved with the first generation of DTG printers in Australia. We’ve seen the evolution of DTG, witnessed Epson’s rise in the market, and supported countless businesses in upgrading their equipment.

In fact, Machines Plus has the largest fleet of Epson DTG/DTF printers in the Australian market, a testament to our time-honored experience in the industry.
